A bereavement companion is someone who has been through their own grief journey and is willing to help someone else on their journey. The trained volunteers are compassionate people who can “walk beside” a grieving person; he/she will help the grieving person bear the burden of sorrow and may help them find hope for the future. The program is designed for those who cannot attend a weekly support group.
